U09-U11 Skills Centre Program

What Is a Skill Centre Program?

The overarching purpose of the Canada Soccer Skill Centre model is to provide “access to high-quality programs where they can have fun with their friends, learn new skills and play the game in an appropriate format.”

Skill Centre Goals:

  1. To keep more young players involved in the game for longer by providing them with an enjoyable experience with the game.
  2. Produce clear training guidelines for clubs so that they can deliver the best possible environment for young players in their region.
  3. Produce better players across Canada by increasing opportunity and access to be better training and competition for younger players.

Skill Centre Principles:

  • Training will be FUN
  • Accessible
  • Meaningful Feedback
  • High Contact Time
  • Training Resembles the Game

Skill Centre Groups:

  • U09 Boys
  • U09 Girls
  • U10 Boys
  • U10 Girls
  • U11 Boys
  • U11 Girls

Skills Centre Sessions:

Skills Centre groups will participate in practices held in various facilities in East Hants and will also participate in "Jamboree" style games versus teams from other clubs from the province. Jamborees typically consist of 2-3 games organized by SNS/NSSL, in a 2-3 hour span hosted on a weekend. Jamborees are typically held in the HRM area.

Availability of a Skill Centre program will be dependent on registration numbers. Groups maybe combined to form programs.
